Scott Cody is the head coach of the Cambridge Running Club. In addition to coaching CRC, Scott has coached track and cross country at Cambridge Rindge and Latin since 1996. Under his direction, these teams have won 21 Greater Boston League titles, 2 Eastern Massachusetts Cross Country Titles, 2 Division 1 State Titles, and have set the state record in the girls 2x400m relay. Scott and his Providence College teammates (including 2-time Olympian Mark Carroll) were three-time Big East XC champions and placed 3rd in the NCAA in 1992. After college, Scott continued his running career with Nike Boston and New Balance. Scott won USATF-NE titles in the 5k, 10-mile, and half marathon, with personal bests of 4:04 (mile), 8:06 (3000m), 14:01 (5000m), 23:52 (5 mile), and 1:06:48 (half marathon).
Scott’s lifelong involvement in running was inspired by a number of influences, including his uncle Vinnie Fleming (5th in the 1977 Boston Marathon), and coaches Bob Maguire (Cambridge R&L), Ray Treacy (Providence College), and Bob Sevene (post-collegiate).
