Super Sunday Race Report
2018 CRC Race Series #1
February 4, 2018
Cloudy and 30 degrees
Congratulations to all those who raced Super Sunday last weekend, and thanks for continuing to make the race one of our biggest and most exciting events of the entire year.
Thank you especially for your patience when the systems went down prior to the race. We’ve had a longstanding relationship with Race Director Alain Ferry, and I know he appreciates the support that he and the volunteers received.
And now, to answer everyone’s most pressing question…
No, we did not win the party bus. BAA was out in full strength, and they beat us by a solid 13+ minutes. (Debbie Downer alert.) We did finish in second though (top 10 times on each team are counted) out of a total of 14 teams that scored. And as the second-largest team, we had our post-race Bustonian bus where we rocked out to some classic hits and reveled in an impromptu dance/karaoke/pizza/adult beverage party.
From all the post-race conversations, it sounds like there were numerous PRs and overall solid performances. But I’d like to specifically give a shout-out to those who finished in the top 10 in their age group: Billy Warren, Chris Kovalchick, Christopher Sokolowski, Ian Rea, Nuria de Mas, Emanuela Ceva, Mark Tebbe, John Hadcock, Ray Gonzalez, Art Krieg, and Fabio Schiantarelli. Great job everyone!
