YuKan Run Triple Threat Race Report 2017
Rockport, MA
CRC Race Series
August 6, 2017
Weather: Sunny, 78°F, Wind 8-16mph, 24mph gusts

19 CRC runners and a handful of CRC cheerleaders took to the rolling coastal roads of Rockport this past Sunday to run the Triple Threat (or at least parts of it) and came home with a lot of medals: 26, that’s twelve more than last year.

To celebrate our glorious victories, we had a cookout at Stage Fort park where we feasted with burgers, hot dogs, oreos, macaroons, and piles of other food; played Kubb (Viking wood tossing game); and iced off in the cool, rocky waters of Gloucester.

Some notable performances:
  • Theron Carmichael tied his PR in the 5K at 16:37 and took 2nd place overall.
  • Stephanie Habura earned a PR in the Half Marathon at 1:50:53
  • Nancy Varney completed her own “Quadruple Quahog”, by doing the Beach to Beacon 10k on Saturday and the Triple Threat on Sunday
  • Kyle Coffee actually made a wrong turn in the Half Marathon and still finished with a time of 1:21:42, 4th overall, 1st in age group.
  • Charlie Muse took home 4 Golds. While he may have been the only person in his age group, he finished 9th overall out of 117 Triple Threat finishers, one of ten runners to break 2 hours.
