Mount Washington Road Race

It was a beautiful day for the 2012, 52nd Mt. Washington Road Race, the steepest all-uphill race in the US of A. This year, the race served as the 2012 U.S. Mountain Running Championship race. Whenever that happens this race becomes insanely competitive. No problem. The CRC women’s team took first place (Katilin, Amanda, Becky, Alicia, Barbara). With the top six American finishers earning a place on the American national team, some of our own came scarily close to making the team. So yes, our women are a pretty big deal.

The CRC runners that braved the mountain got their ass kicked and kicked some ass in exchange. It goes both ways with the mountain. CRC also had a large volunteer turnout for the race -a special thanks to Javier for coordinating rides and to all volunteers for doing a great job at the top and keeping things under control, especially when we ran out of water cups for the runners and had to improvise.
