Team CRC made a grand showing this weekend at the Bedford 12K Grand Prix race. The women's team of Heather, Meredith and Rebecca brought home 6th place while the men's team of Chad, Bernat, Pat, Kevin, Justin, Dave, Andrew and Jay took 8th place. Dressed all in blue singlets, except for their fearless leader (who donned a rag-tag, homemade white singlet), the CRC teams were a force on the course.
Hank Scollard donned a devilish red Whirlaway singlet to compete in the Masters team competition. Hank finished 8th in the Masters division, contributing to the Whirlaway Masters Team victory! This was a huge accomplishment, for which Hank was taunted mercilessly by the rest of the CRC. Andrew and Jay added to the anticipation of their Rhody 5K showdown by turning in the exact same finish time -- though Andrew stepped across the line first, holding off an impressive finishing kick by Jay.
Coach Scott Cody, Katie O'Connor and Kaitlin Anelauskas cheered on the runners from several points on the course. After the race, everyone went to nearby Karen's Kitchen for a huge brunch of pancakes, french toast, eggs, homefries, etc. Many thanks to the club for subsidizing this post-race event. And congrats to all of the runners on great performances!
