James Joyce Ramble 10K
Dedham, MA
April 25, 2010
Eight CRCers participated in the 26th James Joyce Ramble on Sunday continuing a growing tradition for the club. Conditions for racing were very good. Temps in the mid-50s, little wind, and good cloud cover. This was in stark contrast to last year's hot, shade-deprived slog. The course was well-populated by cheering spectators and, as always, the Joyce readers entertaining the runners with momentary sound-bites of the master's prose along the way. Some would argue this is the best way to take in James Joyce. From a running perspective this is a great course and always a well-organized event.
Post-race, the Endicott Estate lawn was the venue for lots of good food and drink. One of Boston's great rocker's, Dennis Brennan and his band, kept everyone entertained, and Harpoon kept us all hydrated.
Geoff Philbrick ran a 10K PR. Anne London continued a remarkable comeback from serious injuries last fall. Congratulations to all who ran. If you haven't run this race by all means try it next year.
