Assault on Mount Hood 3.5 Miler (Cross Country) (12/13/2008)

Assault on Mount Hood 3.5 Mile (Cross Country)
Melrose, MA
December 13, 2008

A partially frozen Mount Hood Golf Club served as the course for the annual Assault on said mount.
Thursday's rain/ice storm provided an extra element of challenge to the very hilly course. Footing ranged from frozen solid to puddles covered by thin layers of ice. Hank took fourth overall and second in the Masters division. Jay took home third in his age group and was the first overall to enjoy a post-race beer. James, who always seems to enjoy difficult courses, proclaimed afterwards that he was slowed more by the wind chill than the hills. Kristina was disappointed that the race did not involve climbing any rocks that one typically associates with climbing a mountain. Justin was considering filing assault charges until persuaded not to by the post-race free beer and food. Apres-race fare was phenomenal, a full buffet of pasta, salad, and clam chowder in addition to the free beer.
